Soccer Spectrum Indoor Soccer Facility in Richardson, Texas

Soccer Spectrum:

Soccer Spectrum is an indoor soccer facility which was founded in 1987, and is located at 1251 Digital Drive in Richardson, Texas. The owners are Mungioli brothers whom I personally know them since 1980 when we were playing with and against each other.

Advantages of Indoor Soccer vs. outdoor Soccer:

1. Weather: Rain or Shine, storm, thunderstorm, snow or ice, heat (over 100 degrees which is normal in summer in Texas), etc. always you can play at your scheduled time. Where as in outdoor, they will abandon the game, postpone, or re-schedule the game for any of the above weather condition.

2. Day and Time: In outdoor soccer, almost all the games are scheduled on Saturdays (for Kids) and Sundays (for Adults) during the day time. Whereas, Indoor games are everyday after 5:30 PM (after work) up to midnights for adults and Saturday’s morning up to 2 PM for Kids. So, a player has more choice and has more chance to play.

3. Field: in North Texas because of the extreme heats for most of the year and restriction on watering, most of the fields for most of the time are hard and hard to play on. Whereas, the Indoor fields are from artificial carpets, soft, safe and smooth and is easy to play on.

4. Season Duration: In outdoor, we have two seasons, falls and springs, where as in indoor all year around leagues are scheduled and you can play all year around with no break.

Leagues:

Soccer Spectrum is open every day and has scheduled leagues for all age groups from kids 4+ years old to ages over 45, for several different levels and for men, women and co-eds.

The Kids leagues are usually on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The co-ed games, where men and women play in the same team, are usually on Fridays and Saturdays from 2:00 PM to sometimes 2:00 AM after midnights. Tuesday evenings from 5:30 PM to Midnights are reserved for women’s league. Mondays and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to Midnights are for men’s open division (18 years and older) and finally Thursday night is for men’s over 30 and over 35 years old leagues. Time by time, there is a over 45 years old league on Saturdays.

Other Activities:

Birthday party: Many players and families plan their birthdays or their kid's birthdays at the Soccer Spectrum, usually they play a friendly soccer game first and then they enjoy the party.

Team Practice: Many teams schedule their teams practices at the soccer spectrum, when there is no game is scheduled, such as in the weekday's morning or lunch time. As you know practicing and finding an outdoor field in Texas is very hard and is too hot.

Rent the field: Rent the field for your group of friends and just come have some fun playing indoor soccer. Many players come during the lunch, 12:00 PM-1:30 PM, and use the facility for their practices, friendly games, etc. This is open to everybody with a nominal fee.

In addition, there are some group of players, over 60 years old, that have reserved the facility on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM to practice and play friendly games. You must be at least 60 years old to participate in this event.

Food Drinks, Bar, etc:
In addition to regular drinks and food such as salads, Italian subs, they also have Azzurri Pizzeria, the best Pizza in town. Also, there is bar at one end of the facility where they serve beers, wines, etc. After the game, players go there and have Pizza & drinks while they are watching a video of their games. This is fun, the player see their mistakes, loss opportunities, brag about their plays, etc.
